Welcome to our March Mentality: A D.O.S.E of Happiness Series! For our first D.O.S.E, we will be focusing on Dopamine! Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that your body makes. Your nervous system uses it to send messages between nerve cells like a messenger. Too little dopamine can affect:
- Learning
- Motivation
- Heart rate
- Blood vessel function
- Kidney function
- Lactation
- Sleep
- Mood
- Attention
- Control of nausea and vomiting
- Pain processing
- Movement
These affects can often lead to mental illness, so it’s vital that we learn how to balance the dopamine levels in our body. This can be done through activities and incorporating certain foods, herbs, and supplements into our diets. See below for our cheat sheet!

Stay tuned for our next D.O.S.E.!
