We recently did a post on my skincare/makeup routine and I thought it was important to share Elise’e routine! Most 8 year olds don’t have a skincare routine because well, they are kids with perfect un-pubertized (that should be a word) skin. Elise has eczema so her skin is a little sensitive. I tried the true warm wet rag to remove daily dirt but it wasn’t helping her skin very much. She needed something that gave her some cleansing and after, some moisturizing. I did a lot of research looking for products that were safe for kids sensitive skin and came across brands like Johnson & Johnson, Honest, and Evereden. I used Johnson & Johnson products when Elise was a baby but let’s face it, they haven’t had a lot of positive experiences lately so I automatically discounted them. I never tried Honest and still wouldn’t mind trying but I quickly became overwhelmed on the site looking at everything. I just so happened to see an ad for Evereden and instantly got excited!
First, I saw that they have products for mom, baby, and kid! Usually it’s mom and baby focused which lets face it, after 5, kids don’t want something labeled with baby. I also noticed that the creators were moms who had careers in medicine and wanted the same things I did for their kids! The price is a bit pricey for kids skincare so I wanted to start off with just her face care routine. I ordered the Kids’s Happy Face Duo which includes the Kid’s Multivitamin Face Wash and Face Cream! It comes in 3 scents (Fresh Pomelo, Cool Peach, and Melon Juice). I desperately wanted the peach for Elise but they were sold out so I settled for the Melon Juice.
Elise was very excited that she had her own products to use and wanted to try it right away! The face wash has a foaming pump and the face cream has a push plate so the formula comes out with the perfect amount. Before bed, I showed her how to wet her face, apply the face wash all over, and rinse off. She then blotted her face dry and applied the face cream. Overall she said she liked how her face feels and it smells good! So I would say this is a win!
Evereden also makes a body-wash, body lotion, shampoo/conditioner, and sunscreen lotion! You can buy them all individually or in bundles!
One product I would like to try for Elise’s sensitive skin is the Healing Eczema Treatment. It soothes red itchy skin and helps restore skin barriers! I hope that this will help her with any flair ups that she might have. Evereden also offers these products in gift bags which are perfect for the upcoming holiday season! As are the cute scented bubble packs below!
I hope that this helps you with navigating through some of the childhood hygiene issues and would love to hear if anyone else has tried any of these or the Honest products. If you are expecting your own bundle of joy or know someone who is, there are a ton of amazing products to try on their site!
